20 Questions

The music I’d chose for my funeral…
One Step Beyond by Madness.

My epitaph would be…
“I told you I was ill” (stolen from Spike Milligan).

I once met…
Jimmy Saville – he came to my house to visit my Dad when he was ill. I also met Jon Pertwee, the best Dr Who ever (see next question)!

My favourite possession is…
My Dr Who collection – sad I know, but I own every episode ever made, including reconstructed versions of all the ones lost from the BBC archives! Okay, you’ve lost interest in me at this point.

I never leave home without…
Love to say ‘my dignity’, but will have to settle for ‘my keys’.

The first record I ever bought was… News at Ten by the Vapors (1980) – the follow-up to Turning Japanese.

I’d love to have been old enough to see…
England winning the World Cup – I was only a baby back in 1966 – although seeing them win 5-1 against Germany a few years back sort of makes up for that!

I love the smell of…
Coriander!

I’m scared of…
Heights. And I use to be a bit panicky in water, but I think I’m getting over that now.

The actor who’d play me in a film is…
Jude Law, but I’m slightly concerned he wouldn’t be good looking enough.

The five words that best describe me as an IFA are…
Dedicated, professional, motivated, humorous, always on hand (okay, that’s seven, but close enough).

The best thing about my job is…
The flexibility to be in control of when I work.

If I could pick one dinner guest, it would be…
Muhammed Ali at the peak of his powers.

Dogs or cats?
Both are fine, but lop-eared rabbits rule! They’re great fun, very affectionate and you don’t have to take them for walks.

If I won £100,000 I’d…
Take my partner on a great holiday and also take my mother abroad as she's only been out of England once in her 78 years. With the remainder I’d look at funding a self-build property.

Marmite, oysters. Any thoughts?
Marmite: yes, I’ll have that occasionally. Oysters: spawn of the devil.

Reality TV is…
Good and bad. Big Brother is awful – fame hungry fools doing anything to be noticed. But I do like things like Britain’s Got Talent where people are after the same end, but have at least got a skill or talent to entertain us with.

The best investment I’ve ever made was…
A property I bought in Leeds which doubled in value in five years.

Most of all, clients must…
